Heritage Talk: The historical changes of the gold jewellery industry in Hong Kong

A heritage talk jointly organised by the Lord Wilson Heritage Trust and the Hong Kong Public Libraries was successfully held on 2 June 2024. The talk was delivered by Dr Michael Wing-Hin Kam, Lecturer in History and Associate Programme Director (Social Sciences) of the Associate Degree Programme, the College of International Education, Hong Kong Baptist University. Dr Kam gave a detailed presentation on the transformations and present situation of the gold jewellery industry in Hong Kong. The audience also had an enhanced understanding on the operation mode and business development of the traditional gold shops, and also the career and working life of goldsmiths.
