2021 Online Seminar on “Understanding local Chinese Elites in the Early 20th Century through Epitaphs”

The Lord Wilson Heritage Trust (Trust) and the Curriculum Development Institute of the Education Bureau (EDB) jointly organised an online seminar on “Understanding local Chinese Elites in the Early 20th Century through Epitaphs” on 11 May 2021 with the participation of around 90 teachers.

The Trust and EDB invited Dr TANG Ka-jau, Billy (Commissioner of the Society of Hong Kong) as the speakers to share their insights into the topic, with a view to help teachers understand the life and contribution of prominent local Chinese elites in the early 20th century through epitaphs, and enhance teachers’ ability to organise relevant students’ field visits.

More information on the Trust’s sponsored project “A Collection of Epitaphs of Chinese Elites in Hong Kong” and “A Collection of Epitaphs of Chinese Elites in Hong Kong - Kowloon and New Territories” could be found at https://www.lordwilson-heritagetrust.org.hk/en/projects/project_listing/project_details/10-187.html and https://www.lordwilson-heritagetrust.org.hk/en/projects/project_listing/project_details/27-9-27.html respectively.
