Heritage Talk 2025 — Zhuoqin: the creative lutherie art of Guqin music
The Qin, also known as the Guqin, is one of the oldest plucked string instruments in China. Its crafting technique, known as zhuoqin, has a history of more than 1,800 years and a rich cultural lineage.
The Lord Wilson Heritage Trust, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Public Libraries, will present a talk titled “Zhuoqin: the creative lutherie art of Guqin music”. In this talk, three prominent apprentices of Master Choi Chang Sau will share the secrets of this traditional art; and how the Qin community in Hong Kong strives to continue with this invaluable cultural heritage.
