Field Visit: When West Meets East: The Development of Hong Kong Catholicism in the 20th Century

A field visit on "When West Meets East: The Development of Hong Kong Catholicism in the 20th Century" was held on 10 December 2021 in Fanling with more than 20 teachers as participants. Jointly organised by The Lord Wilson Heritage Trust (Trust) and the Curriculum Development Institute of the Education Bureau, the field visit aims to provide docent service training for current teachers.

The Trust is honored to have Mr TANG Ming-fai again, a representative from the Centre for Catholic Studies, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, as the docent to guide our participants all the way along the trip from Old Luen Wo Market of Fanling, On Lok Tsuen, Shek Lu to Sha Tau Kok Road (Lung Yeuk Tau Section), explaining the history and development of Catholicism in the area in hope to improve teachers' understanding on the topic as well as strengthen their ability to guide when planning similar activities for students in the future.
