Brief Description of the Project

This project aims to study the charitable activities of four Daoist associations set up in Hong Kong from 1921 to 1944, viz. the Wong Tai Sin Temple, Hong Kong Red Swastika Society, Lung Hing Tong and Wun Chuen Sin Kwoon, and the significance of their charitable activities to Hong Kong during the war time from 1930s to 1940s.
