Brief Description of the Project

Mrs Sarah Ali was approved a grant for carrying out a study on the potential, assessment, management and preservation of maritime archaeological sites in Hong Kong. Maritime archaeology is a new area of study in Hong Kong. It is essential to consider the fundamental elements of initiating a more extensive research program. The aim of this project was to explore all aspects of the subject to ensure that the scope of all future work is feasible and will integrate with as well as compliment current land based practice. The study was completed in December 1998.
