25th Anniversary Activities

 

Celebration Ceremony cum "Heritage Connect" Launching Ceremony

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Trust and launch the documentary series titled "Heritage Connect" produced in collaboration with the Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK), the Celebration Ceremony cum "Heritage Connect" Launching Ceremony was held on 15 December 2018 at the Olympic Square in the Hong Kong Park.

We are honored to invite Mr Matthew CHEUNG Kin-chung, GBM, GBS, JP, the Chief Secretary for Administration; Mrs Cherry TSE LING Kit-ching, JP, the Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs; and Mr Albert CHEUNG Kin-wah, the Acting Deputy Director of Broadcasting (Programmes) of the RTHK to attend the ceremony as officiating guests.

During the ceremony, the officiating guests were invited to launch the documentary series titled "Heritage Connect" produced in collaboration with the RTHK. Ms LAI Tai-kam and her granddaughter demonstrated the unique culture of fishermen laments. Besides, the Council Chairperson Prof HO Pui-yin and two Programme Advisors, Prof LAU Chi-pang, JP and Dr TING Sun-pao, Joseph shared their views on the documentary series.

The ceremony was attended by around 80 honorarble guests, donors, past Chairman and Members of the Board of Trustees and the Council, past grantees and around 250 members of the public. Apart from our guests, we are also grateful for the support from over 60 young helpers to make the event a success!

To exchange ideas on heritage preservation, a Tea Reception was arranged at the LockCha Tea House in the K.S. Lo Gallery of the Hong Kong Park. During the occasion, a young troupe "The Gong Strikes One" was invited to give live Chinese music performance and a nanyin performance.
