Public Lectures of the Lord Wilson Scholarship

Public Lectures of the Lord Wilson Scholarship scheme were organised by Lord Wilson Heritage Trust. The scheme was to sponsor world-renowned distinguished scholars and researchers to conduct lectures and research on local heritage in Hong Kong in order to help promote and preserve Hong Kong's human heritage. Prof FU Xianguo and Mr LV Hongliang are the awardees of Lord Wilson Scholarship (Research Fellow) and Lord Wilson Scholarship (Post-graduate Student) respectively. They would conduct their research on local archaeology for three and nine months respectively.

Prof. FU will stay in Hong Kong among June-August, 2006 to conduct research on "Neolithic Stepped Stone Adzes and Shouldered Stone Implements of Hong Kong". Three public lectures have been arranged at the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre as follows:

Mr. LV Hong-liang conducted his research on 'Neolithic Chipped Lithic Artefacts of Hong Kong: Raw Materials, Skills and Ecological Adaptation' since May 2006 during his stay in Hong Kong. Details of his public lectures are as follows:

The Briefing and Sharing Sessions of Lord Wilson Heritage Trust

The Briefing and Sharing Sessions of Lord Wilson Heritage Trust were held on 16 May 2006. The purposes of the Sessions were to introduce the Trust to the public and invite fresh applications of 2006. The Sharing Session provided an opportunity for previous grantees to share with the Trust and the public their experience and views in the conservation and preservation of Hong Kong Heritage.
