"Tian Xi Xi" Charity Fundraising Programme

Heritage Conservation X Jewelry Design

The Lord Wilson Heritage Trust (the Trust) has partnered with the Shanghai Commercial Bank Limited (SCBL) and Mr Dennis Chan, the Creative Director of the internationally acclaimed jeweler Qeelin, in launching the "Tian Xi Xi" Charity Fundraising Programme with a view to supporting the work of preserving and conserving Hong Kong's human heritage. "Tian Xi Xi", a global limited edition charity pendant set with necklace, was created with the design inspiration from auspicious Chinese architectural ornaments. Monies raised through the sale of the pendant will contribute to the Trust in promoting heritage conservation.

The idea behind the crossover of "heritage conservation" and "jewelry design" flows from the concept of marrying "conservation" with "design" proposed during the Trust's 20th Anniversary Roving Exhibition Kick-off Ceremony in early 2013, representing a brand-new approach to fundraising for the Trust.

A design born out of a passion for heritage conservation and laden with meaning

At the media preview held on 17 October 2013, Mr Dennis Chan revealed that the design concept of "Tian Xi Xi" originated from a book titled "Auspicious Ornaments: Chinese Architecture in Hong Kong and Folk Beliefs" written by one of the Trust's grantees, Mr So Man-hing. "Tian Xi Xi" was inspired by the unicorn lion ornaments on the ridge of Peng Chau's Tin Hau Temple found in the book. Unicorn lions, according to Chinese folklore, can drive away disasters and keep people safe. Inspired by the appearance and auspicious meanings of this mythical creature, Mr Chan gives the "Tian Xi Xi" pendant a shape that is both one of a kind and carries with it an aura of sophistication.

A limited production of 18 pieces to bring you happiness and joy every day

The "Tian Xi Xi" charity pendant is designed free of charge by Mr Dennis Chan and limited to 18 pieces only. The net proceeds from the sale of "Tian Xi Xi" will be donated to the Trust in support of its work on preserving local heritage. The "Tian Xi Xi" pendant comes in two favours: A white gold pendant set with ruby, pink ruby, diamond and green garnet with an adjustable 18k white gold necklace, and a rose gold pendant set with ruby, pink ruby and diamond with an adjustable 18k rose gold necklace. Pre-order is required for all purchases. Exquisitely crafted by Qeelin, these pendants connote the meaning of experiencing happiness and joy every day.

Pre-order using the redesigned Heritage Credit Card

Purchases of "Tian Xi Xi" can only be made through the Heritage Credit Card jointly issued by the SCBL and the Trust. For every dollar spent with the credit card, the SCBL will donate 0.25% to the Trust. In the 15 years since 1998 when the credit card was first issued, the Trust has received approximately $1.4 million in donations. The SCBL is the Trust's important partner in heritage conservation.

To commemorate the Trust's 20th anniversary, the SCBL has decided to give the Heritage Credit Card a new look by incorporating the anniversary logo by famed designer Mr Alan Chan, which signifies the beginning of a new chapter for heritage conservation in Hong Kong.
