Brief Description of the Project

Mr LI Ho-fai’s project is a study on the history and development of Luen Wo Hui in Fanling. Luen Wo Hui was established in the 1950s and its main building, Luen Wo Market, has been rated Grade III historical building. The project aims at preserving and recording the history of Luen Wo Hui with regard to the following aspects: (i) development of “Hui” in New Territories under the colonial administration; (ii) establishment of Luen Wo Hui and the politics concerning the New Territories; (iii) daily operation of Luen Wo Hui (including the livelihood of its residents and the operation of the local community), and (iv) layout of Luen Wo Hui, etc.
